DESHOULIERES - GALERNEAU c/ PIER IMPORT EUROPE - PIER IMPORT DISTRIBUTION
The company DESHOULIERES and Mr Stéphane GALERNEAU were represented by Arnaud Casalonga, Attorney at law.
The Court of First Instance ruled against the PIER IMPORT companies for copyright infringement and unfair competition as it considered that the design of the plates marketed by the PIER IMPORT companies was reproducing the characteristics of the NARA plate designs (formerly ZEN).
The Court of Appeal held that the plate designs were elegible for protection and illegally copied. The Court of Appeal therefore confirmed the judgment of the Court of First Instance.
