Attentive to her clients, rigorous and efficient, Hélène has extensive expertise in biotechnology patents.
Hélène has been working for over 20 years in the field of biotechnologies, particularly in the medical field (microbiology, immunology, vectorology, protein and genome engineering, gene therapy, vaccinology, immunotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of cancer and infectious diseases).
Her high-level technical skills and experience in the field of industrial property enable her to advise start-ups, biotech companies and research institutes, both French and foreign, in even the most complex cases.
Within our Pharma & Life Sciences department, she assists clients in defining and implementing an industrial property strategy, in coordination with Casalonga’s attorneys-at-law.
Hélène has been a European Patent Attorney since 2006, and a French Patent Attorney since 2009. She is involved in the acquisition and defense of IP rights, and represents clients before patent offices. She has developed expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in France, Europe and abroad, in a wide range of biotechnology fields.
After a double doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (ENV Nantes) and Virology (University Paris 7), Hélène began her career as a researcher in the field of vaccines, vectorology and gene therapy and worked for over 10 years in academic and industrial research, in France and abroad (Virbac ; CNRS (Virus Genetics Laboratory); Institute of Virology & Environmental Microbiology (Oxford, UK); Sir Albert Sakzewski Virus Research Center (Brisbane, Australia); Institut Pasteur (Arbovirus Unit); Institut Gustave Roussy (Vectorology and Gene Transfer Laboratory)).
With over 20 years’s experience as a patent attorney in major French IP law firms, she joined CASALONGA in 2024 as a counsel.

Hélène is a member of the French Patent and Trademark association (CNCPI “Compagnie Nationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle”) and of the European Patent Institute (epi).
